Membership Eligibility
An applicant for membership must be no less than eighteen years of age and able to prove lineal (parent to child), blood-line descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence. This can include many categories other than the military, such as contributing materials, medical aid, service as constable, signing allegiance to the state of residence which was at war with England, and more. The Asthon Sosi Chapter NSDAR has genealogists who can assist you in documenting proof, and any woman, regardless of race, religion or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible to join.
There are forty-two DAR chapters in the state of Arizona. Members are not required to live in the same city or state as a chapter.
